Pastor Doug Porter
Pastor Doug has served in ministry for over 40 years and has served as Pastor at Habersham Baptist since February 2013. Before coming to Habersham Baptist, he served as the student pastor and recreation minister at Beech Street First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Arkansas, and as the associate pastor/youth and then senior pastor at Head of Tennessee Baptist Church in Dillard, Georgia. He is very active in mission work, local and overseas. Currently serving as moderator of the Habersham Baptist Association, and the chairman of the board for MomPrince Thomas Foundation, a mission ministry in Jacmel, Haiti.
Pastor Doug grew up in Tampa, Florida. He is a graduate of the University of Tampa with a degree in Business Administration, a Masters in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Masters in Professional Counseling from Truett McConnell University. He and his wife Lisa have been married for over 40 years and have two grown children and four incredible grandchildren. When not working, Doug enjoys spending time with his family, reading, watching college and professional football, a good movie, driving in his jeep with the top down, kayaking, and fishing. He loves pastoring at HBC. He wants to help people find Jesus as their Savior and then help them grow in that relationship.
